So there I was in bed about to go to sleep. I was laying there in the dark and then my mind latched onto an idea.
I've been in that situation before and when you get an idea for a song you have got to get up and find a pen before it slips away.
Dark Eyes is the song that flowed out of my pen.
It's a song about a couple that despite being attracted to each other were destined to split up because they ultimately had different ideas on how their lives would pan out. This led to the guy playing make believe that if he put his life plans to one side then he wouldn't have to lose her. As you can imagine- that wasn't gonna work !
I managed to get a lot of it down onto paper that night but kicked that idea around for two weeks before I came up with the finished version.
I recorded it in my home studio and played all of the instruments myself ( which took ages).
I'm over the moon with how it came out. Its always great to watch an idea from your head turn into a full blown recorded song. I never get tired of the process.
I'm currently working on my next song.
